Ruebikes has a mission to teach. It is easy to just fix someone's bike and send them on their way. It takes guts to spend that extra hour or two and show them how to fix their own machine. Our culture is disposable. That mentality carries over into relationships. I prefer to treasure my friendships. If people are shown they are capable of anything, they feel valued.

 

The machines we repair together are like the friendships they inspire, serviceable, worth saving, worth bragging about. Anyone can rise to the challenge and build a life, not just a bike. Presently Bicycle maintenance clinics are held in partnership with local Gresham soup kitchens. The goal is to educate, inspire, and motivate.
